For a lot of bloggers that use contextual ads on their site don’t see much revenue from placing the ads on their site. The low revenue generated from contextual ads on some sites is driven by two things. First, either the keywords that are associated with the content of your site don’t have high CPC. Second, is that some sites that have high traffic don’t get the clicks per visitor that they would like, or in other words visitors don’t click on the ads. Lets start off by saying that neither of these are actually problems. Unfortunately for some sites contextual ads just don’t work. If the ads that you are placing on your sites now have low payouts, switching to another ad network might solve your problem might not. However, there are alternatives to using contextual ads. The top alternative is probably going to be text-link-ads. Text-link-ads works like this you take the ad space that you were using to display your contextual ads and allow advertisers to bid on the ad space. Text-link-ads are sold on a monthly basis. This is a great alternative for those sites that have high traffic volume. The higher traffic volume that you have for your site the more valuable the ad space on your site is going to be. Text-link-ads are also a great source of revenue for sites that have high traffic volumes and also earn revenue from contextual ads. Text-links-ads can run allow with any contextual ad network. Current text-link-ads range anywhere from $2000 to $10.
